A CryptoKitty in itself is not just the picture, the art. That is certainly an expression of it. What your CryptoKitty is in each one of those things might be completely different. It’s yours, and you can use it as you see fit. This isn’t just an in-game asset. This is the first example of an entirely new kind of digital asset.
Blockchain has become part of artists’ practice, both as a subject and medium. There is a nascent blockchain art movement from bitcoin graffiti art to artworks. The case of CryptoKitties shows that these people would like to buy digital art rather than traditional art, and we could confidently believe that blockchain will ultimately benefit art in the broader sense
